From Michael P. Norton and Katie Lannan, State House News Service[Story Developing] About two dozen lawmakers and the mayors of Boston, Easthampton, Holyoke, Lawrence and Worcester visited the State House Wednesday to join the push for an education bill that could send more money to school districts. The early days of the 2019-2020 session have been marked by inactivity in the Legislature but growing agitation among members and others for consideration early in the session of legislation addressing the state’s education funding formula. Public officials and education activists packed a meeting room to talk about a bill filed by Sen. Sonia Chang-Diaz of Jamaica Plain. Chang-Diaz served on an education bill conference committee that could not reach agreement on a bill last session. “Let’s enact this bill into law before the start of the next school year,” Chang-Diaz said to applause.
