Local theatre group seeking its George Bailey
SOUTHBRIDGE — Gateway Players Theatre, Inc. will hold auditions for “It’s a Wonderful Life, a live radio play” by Joe Landry, on Monday and Wednesday, September 10 and 12 at 6:30 p.m. in Fellowship Hall of Elm Street Congregational Church, 61 Elm Street. Entrance is on Park Street (around corner).
Men and women are needed for this production scheduled for November 30, December 1 & 2. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. Wear comfortable clothes and plan to have a good time.
Mary Gahagan is directing, with Barbara Day as producer. This play brings the traditional holiday feelings to life, in a warm friendly setting.
This beloved American holiday classic comes to captivating life as a live 1940s radio broadcast. With the help of an ensemble that brings a few dozen characters to the stage, the story of idealistic George Bailey unfolds as he considers ending his life one fateful Christmas Eve.
