SOUTHBRIDGE — The Southbridge Hotel and Conference Center has re-opened its doors in an effort to help those on the front lines of the COVID-19 outbreak. The hotel, owned and operated by Southbridge Associates, an affiliate of Franklin Realty Advisors LLC and Shaner Hotel Group, Inc., is proud to host Harrington Hospital healthcare workers during this time.
The hotel is operating under current state regulations and best practices. To keep the safety of its guests a top priority, an emphasis is being placed on the highest degree of caution, cleanliness, and a preparedness to address emergencies and safety hazards should any arise. During these extremely difficult times while healthcare workers are isolated from their families and friends, the hotel is able to provide accommodations that are safe, secure and convenient for those Harrington Hospital employees on the front lines.
“We are happy to do our part to support the community during these uncertain times,” said Chip Norton, Manager of Franklin Realty Advisors LLC.
“Our focus has always been what is best for Southbridge and central Massachusetts, opening our doors to the Harrington Hospital healthcare workers was the least we could do,” Norton added.
The hotel is offering its services at an extremely reduced rate, with charges covering only the basics of housekeeping needs. The hotel, its owners, and management have made this safe haven available as part of their civic commitment and community contribution. Looking for a hotel like this one? Steve Gardiner, General Manager of the Southbridge Hotel and Conference Center, said, “In an effort to support those in the community that work day and night for the protection of our friends, families and neighbors, it made a lot of sense for us to welcome this remarkable group of doctors, nurses and staff from Harrington Hospital during a critical time of need.”
“I am so grateful to the Southbridge Hotel for its generous support of our healthcare professionals working on the front lines of this pandemic,” said Harrington HealthCare System President and CEO Ed Moore. “Our staff puts their own health at risk every day to care for the health of others, all the while having to worry about bringing the COVID-19 virus home to their own families. Harrington leadership is thankful and proud to be able to offer our employees the opportunity to stay at The Southbridge Hotel and Conference Center in order to protect their families and decrease that risk with no out-of-pocket cost to themselves. Our entire team is immensely appreciative of the opportunity to offer this priceless gift of safety during such a difficult time.”
