Gateway to hold auditions for Rocky Horror Show

SOUTHBRIDGE — Gateway Players Theatre will be holding auditions for the cult classic “The Rocky Horror Show,” which will be directed by Bill Guy, produced by Barbara Day, and with Chris Rubenacker as musical director. The adult show will hit the stage in August with auditions set for Monday, May 14, and Tuesday, May 15. Both auditions will be held at Elm Street Congregational Church, 61 Elm Street, at 6:30 p.m. Gateway Players, in its 43rd season, is “very excited” to product this show.

Auditioners should come in comfortable clothing and prepared to have a fun time. Men and women are needed for the show. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script, singing, and simple movement.

The production shows the innocent Brad and Janet, who find themselves seeking shelter at a mysterious old castle on a dark and stormy night. While there they encounter transvestite Dr. Frank N. Furter, his “perfect” creation Rocky, and an assortment of other crazy creatures. Favorite musical numbers include “Dammit, Janet,” “Time Warp,” Sweet Transvestite,” and “Toucha, Toucha, Toucha Me.”
