House of Destiny has new home at former AO Complex

Space donated, church to pay only for utilities

SOUTHBRIDGE —A group of local parishioners will soon begin worshipping in a new location after a charitable agreement with Franklin Realty Advisors.

A multi-year lease was recently signed between commercial real estate development leader Franklin Realty Advisors and Southbridge based House of Destiny Ministries, Inc.  House of Destiny will occupy 9,300 square feet of space on the first floor of 70 Optical Drive. Franklin Realty Advisors has donated the space to the church and House of Destiny Church will only be responsible for utilities.

Located on the 150-acre campus of the Southbridge Innovation Center, a sprawling complex that once served as the manufacturing flagship for the American Optical Company, the 1.2 million square-feet, the property contains twelve buildings, including the well-known Southbridge Hotel and Conference Center, as well as office, manufacturing, distribution, and classroom space, and with the remaining vacant buildings ear-marked for laboratory, residential, and data storage development.

Chip Norton, managing partner and founder of Franklin Realty Advisors, said, “We are very excited to have been able to make this contribution to the House of Destiny. We hope that having this additional space will help the church and its programs to continue to thrive and serve our community.”

Reverend Esteban Carrasco Jr, Senior Pastor of House of Destiny Church, said “This is truly a great opportunity for our ministry, as we believe that this space will allow us to expand our vision and continue to service our community without limitation of space.”

A unique property in the heart of the Northeast, Southbridge Innovation Center commands a strategic business location easily reached by auto and air, with over half of New England’s largest companies within a 60-mile radius, and twelve universities and colleges within 25 miles.  Attractions include multiple building types offering a variety of configurations and uses, direct on-site access to fiber conductivity, and an on-site cogeneration power plant providing all of the utilities for the complex at market competitive rates.
