Hitchcock Academy has gifts, stone soup planned for holidays

Grant-funded event set for December 7 in Brimfield

BRIMFIELD — Just as it has in years past, Hitchcock Academy celebrates the season with activities that involve the entire family.  Thanks to a Community Champions Grant from Constellation, an Exelon Company, Hitchcock invites the community to a free event on December 7 between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.

December Delights: Give Back with Gratitude features gifts to make and take. Activities begin at 10 a.m. with Family Foundation 5 reading Stone Soup. After hearing the story all are invited to cook some Vegetable Stone Soup, which will be ready to share at 12 p.m.

From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. there will be crafts, games and fun.  Linda Fuchs of Flourish Farm will help you make a glittery pine cone swag to share with a loved one. Participants can also choose to make a yarn snowball and snowman toss game; to send a card of gratitude; to create a personalized gift tag, gift bag and/or ornament.  Sue Gaulin, of Let’s Cake Decorate will also be on hand to help you decorate two cookies — one to eat and one to share.

Hitchcock invites you to come in and join in the spirit of giving.  Another participant of this Giving with Gratitude event will include the Scouts collecting donations for the food pantry. Please join the fun in the spirit of giving. For more information visit: www.hitchcockacademy.org
