Proceeds to benefit student support fund
CHARLTON — At the end of one year and dawning of another, countless people pledge New Year’s resolutions. They pledge, in the words of the late John Paire, to “be better.”
Paire’s memory is being honored through the Dudley-Charlton Regional School District (DCRSD) New Year’s Resolution (Virtual) 5K.
According to the event description, “This event is to raise money for the Mr. Paire student support fund that helps students and people in the DCRSD community. It is a great way to start of the new year on a positive note in the midst of the constantly changing world. Run a 5k on your own and submit it before the end of the date and see where you’re ranked with other times. There will be Mr. Paire T-shirts that will be given out as prizes for the winners of each age and gender category.”
The event has been put together by the Shepherd Hill Regional High School cross-country team to support the Friends of John Paire Student Support Fund. According to DCRSD Superintendent Steven Lamarche, who plugged the event in a district-wide email on Monday, the fund “was established to help all Dudley-Charlton children have access to an enriched, well-rounded educational experience regardless of economic status.”
