Oxford woman dies after being struck by car

Hibbard was crossing Main Street at time of fatal crash

OXFORD — A local woman was pronounced deceased on the scene after she was hit by a car while crossing Main Street on Wednesday night.

The office of Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early, Jr., confirmed the passing of Wendy Hibbard, age 55. Hubbard was crossing Main Street when she was struck by the vehicle, a Toyota, at approximately 7:15 p.m. The fatal crash occurred in the immediate vicinity of Main Street and Fairlawn Avenue, according to the District Attorney’s office.

The name of the driver has not been released at this time, and no charges have been filed. The crash remains under investigation by Oxford Police Department, the Central Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council reconstruction team and the Worcester County District Attorney’s office.
