Learn Sean-nós Irish Step Dancing for St. Patrick’s Day

Classes geared for kids in a non-competitive style

BRIMFIELD — If you’re lucky enough to be Irish, you’re lucky enough. Regardless of how Irish you may be, however, try your luck with Sean-nós.

This is an older style Irish stepdance, with the term Sean-nós literally translating to “old style.” This style of dance is done is soft shoes or bare feet and was traditionally used to tell stories around the campfire. This series of six classes runs from March 6 through April 10 on Tuesday evenings from 5:30 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. This is a non-competitive style for children.

The Sean-nós lessons will be taught by Karen Larsen at Hitchcock Free Academy, 2 Brookfield Road, on Route 20. There is a $70 fee for the entire series of six classes.
