SOUTHBRIDGE — Mary B. (Osimo) Rondeau, 97, of Breakneck Road, passed peacefully into eternity on Saturday, April 3, in her home with family at her bedside.
Her husband, Roland J. “Joe” Rondeau, passed away in 2004. Her eldest son, Roland “Randy” Rondeau, Jr. passed away in 1999. She leaves three sons, Russell P. Rondeau and his wife Pamela, of Woodstock, Conn., Rev. Michael J. Rondeau and his wife Barbara of Southbridge, and Jeffrey M. Rondeau of Southbridge; three surviving sisters, Rita Lorange and Nancy Norowski, both of Southbridge, and Claire Russell of Webster; 17 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Mary was pre-deceased by her four brothers, Vincent “Jimmy”, Anthony “Tony”, Tulio “Tito” and Alphonse, Jr. “Ponzi” Osimo, and three sisters, Lillian Galonek, Laura Berthiaume and Isabella Authier. She was born in Southbridge, daughter of Alphonse and Angelina (Salce) Osimo.
A hairdresser for many years, she owned and operated Country Beauty Salon from 1958 until her retirement in 2001. Mary was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Parish (now St. John Paul II Parish) and was a longtime member of St. Rita Society. ”Nona” will be fondly remembered for her saying “ I Had Enough,” and she truly did, having been blessed with such longevity! She was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.
A funeral Mass for Mary will be held on Wednesday, April 7, from the Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in the Notre Dame Church of the St. John Paul II Parish, 446 Main Street, Southbridge. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Southbridge. Calling hours in the funeral home will be held on Wednesday, April 7, from 9:30-10:30am, prior to the Mass.
