Isabella A. (Osimo) Authier, 88

SOUTHBRIDGE — Isabella A. (Osimo) Authier, 88, of Charlton St., passed away on Monday, July 30, in the Southbridge Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, after a long illness.

Her husband, Herve R. Authier, died in 1962.  She leaves her daughter, Betsy C. Jabry and her husband Richard of Agawam; her granddaughter, Emily Jabry of Agawam; her four sisters, Mary Rondeau of Southbridge, Rita Lorange of Southbridge, Nancy Norowski of Southbridge and Claire Russell of Webster; and many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her son, Mark Authier, four brothers, Vincent Osimo, Anthony Osimo, Tullio Osimo and Alphonso Osimo, Jr., and two sisters, Lillian Galonek and Laura Berthiaume.  She was born in Southbridge the daughter of Alphonso and Angelina (Salce) Osimo.

Isabella worked at the American Optical Co. in Southbridge for over 40 years, retiring many years ago.  She was a member of St. Mary’s Church (now St. John Paul II Parish) in Southbridge and was also a member of its St. Rita’s Society.  She was a volunteer at Harrington Memorial Hospital in Southbridge.  Isabella enjoyed going to the beach, going for walks and exercising at the Senior Center in Southbridge.  She was also an avid Frank Sinatra fan.

Her family would like to thank the staff at the Southbridge Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center for all of the care and compassion they gave to Isabella.

Her funeral will be held on Friday, Aug. 3, from the Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge, with a Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church of the St. John Paul II Parish, 263 Hamilton St., Southbridge.  Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Southbridge.  A calling hour in the funeral home will be held on Friday, Aug. 3, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., prior to the Mass.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Rd., Waltham, MA 02452.
