Cops cuff Krise in cocaine case

SOUTHBRIDGE — Local police continue their war on drugs in the community, arresting a 23-year-old Edwards Street resident on Thursday after executing a search warrant for narcotics.

According to the Southbridge Police Department, Edward R. Krise, 23, of 23 Edwards Street, Southbridge, was arrested after detectives searched Krise’s second floor apartment. Police said the search warrant was the result of an ongoing investigation by detectives into the distribution of narcotics in Southbridge.

As a result of the search warrant, an amount of suspected cocaine packaged for distribution, an amount of pills, and various narcotics distribution paraphernalia including digital scales, packaging material, plastic bags, boxes of sandwich bags and cutting agents were also recovered. police reported.

Krise was charged with possession with intent to distribute class B cocaine and with possession of a class E substance (Alprazolam). He was held at Southbridge Police Headquarters pending his release on bail and/or his arraignment in Dudley District Court on Friday October 5.

Alprazolam is more commonly known as Xanax, which is a sedative typically used to treat anxiety and panic disorder.
