DUDLEY – The Dudley Charlton Regional School District school committee selected Kristine Nash to serve as Interim Superintendent at a meeting Wednesday, June 13,

Nash beat out Allen W.Himmelberger and Edward M. Malvey to act as an interim superintendent. The interim position became available when superintendent Gregg Desto announced he was stepping down in April. Desto served four years as superintendent of the Dudley Charlton Regional School District, with experience as a middle school principal in both Dudley and Charlton before becoming superintendent. Desto accepted a position as principal of Auburn Middle School for the upcoming school year, a decision he claimed would allow him to better focus on his family, health, and would provide the opportunity to work directly with students in the classroom again.

Nash has served as Interim Superintendent for the Oxford School District for the last year. She stepped in after the previous superintendent, Mark Garceau accepted a position in his home state of Rhode Island.

Nash spent several decades as an English teacher before making the transition to administration. She was the assistant superintendent in Dover Sherborn for one year before becoming superintendent in Hanover. She served in Hanover for seven years, retiring in 2013. The following year she served as Freetown-Lakeville Regional School District interim superintendent.
