In 2006, Massachusetts native Ayla Brown was a contestant on American Idol, finishing 13th and becoming the first Massachusetts performer to reach this accomplishment.
She came to Millbury in 2009 with her father, former U.S. Sen. Scott Brown, to perform solo during the first Millbury Fire Field Day event. The last time she was in Millbury was in 2012 for the Millbury Fire Field Day event, doing an acoustic set.
Brown will be back in Millbury on Friday, June 22, along with fellow Nashville recording artist Rob Bellamy, to perform live at the Wheelock Inn at 8 p.m.
Opening for them will be Matt Brodeur from Matt Brodeur Trio playing solo acoustic at 7 p.m.
The show is sponsored by The Millbury Youth Commission (MYC) and Wheelock Inn. Admission is a $5 donation after 8 p.m. All proceeds benefit the MYC.
