Proceeds will support local food banks
STURBRIDGE — Parents of graduating seniors and members of the Student Council have banded together with a plan to support the Class of 2020 while helping those in need during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Yard signs reading in part, “We support our seniors!!!” will soon be appearing on the lawns and grounds of local homes and businesses. The signs also features the green and gold “T” logo of Tantasqua Regional High School, with “Class of 2020” and “Tantasqua Regional H.S.” appearing as well.
Signs will cost $25 each, though organizers report that all proceeds are going to support local food banks. The signs can be ordered online through the high school’s website and will be available for pickup at the high school at a later date.
The families of seniors who want a sign to show their support for their graduate but are in need of financial assistance at this time are encouraged to e-mail high school principal Michael Lucas. Signs are not limited only to the families of graduates, but can be purchased by anyone in the Tantasqua communities to show support.
A parental group has also established a Facebook page and website to help with communication, sell the senior lawn signs, enable submissions to the senior slideshow, and more. Those interested in more information on the parent group are encouraged to contact Sharron O’Day.
