Police investigate football field vandalism

STURBRIDGE — Police are seeking the public’s help in an investigation into reported vandalism of a high school athletic field.

The Sturbridge Police Department was notified of the vandalism, which includes red spray paint on the football field at Tantasqua Regional High School, on Thursday. Photographic evidence shows the spray paint was left on a goal post, the Tantasqua “T” at the 50-yard line, on a 30-yard line marker, and a goal line.

The vandalism likely occurred sometime after sunset on Wednesday, Feb. 19, police believe.

Police suggested anyone with information regarding the identity of the person or persons responsible contact Officer Paul Janson at (508) 347-2525, ext. 371.
