SOUTHBRIDGE — Johan A. Carmona is set to represent his classmates, teachers, and community as part of a state-wide youth leadership program.

Carmona, an 8th-grade student at Southbridge Middle School, has been officially nominated as the Project 351 Ambassador for the Southbridge Public Schools. Project 351 is a nonprofit organization that aims to prepare the leaders of tomorrow through mentorship, community service, and training. Project 351 asks schools across the Massachusetts Commonwealth to nominate an 8th-grade student per school who best demonstrates kindness, compassion, humility, and gratitude. Carmona was chosen by both his 7th and 8th-grade teachers who felt that he not only met this criterion but felt that he was the best representation of what Southbridge is all about.
