SOUTHBRIDGE — April Parzych, a Brookfield native, has been named the new President of the United Way of Southbridge, Sturbridge and Charlton (UWSSC).

Parzych has been a local resident for over 40 years. She currently lives in Sturbridge with her husband, Walter. She has been employed by Harrington Hospital for 32 years and currently works as an IT Analyst.

A mother of four and grandmother of five, Parzych enjoys giving back to her community and making a difference.

“My passion is providing the most vulnerable members of our community with the resources they need. I enjoy collaboratively working to provide needed services,” she said.

Parzych chaired the UWSSC 2018 Campaign, which raised over $300,000 for local programs and services. She has been on the UWSSC Board for six years and has been a United Way member for 10. Her role as President comes after she completed her Vice Presidency term.

“April has been a longtime supporter and a board member for a number of years. She is very passionate about the mission of the United Way and has always advocated for those in need in the Tri-Community,” said Mary O’Coin, UWSSC Executive Director. “We look forward to her leadership over the next year and know we are in good hands.”

The United Way improves lives by mobilizing the caring power of communities around the world to advance the common good. To learn more about the UWSSC, visit www.unitedwayssc.org.
