BRIMFIELD — The Hitchcock Free Academy is offering a number of events and classes next week, though the farmers’ market will not be held due to the Brimfield Antiques Show.

Monday, May 7

Chi Kung — Chi Kung is a flow of slow, mindful movements, balancing practices, and some static postures done with the intention of enhancing the flow of energy throughout the body. Incorporated into this weekly practice will be a few gestures from the Yang style 108-movement Tai Chi form, a defensive ancient martial art form. Participants will be standing; no mat required. Wear comfortable clothing and non-skid shoes, bring water if you like. All six classes run on Mondays from 6 to 7 p.m. There is a $60 fee and the course is taught by Sharon Palmer.

Sen-I Judo Club — This course runs all year long and is well suited for all levels of practitioners including beginners. Call Sensei Israel Lopez 413-279-4330 for more information.

Violin/Viola with Linda — Ongoing private violin or viola lessons offered by Linda Day, each 30 minutes long and tailored to the age and level of the pupil. Linda offers a variety of musical styles to suit the interests of her students. Children ages 5-7 must be accompanied by an adult and all students under the age of 18 must have a signed consent form. There is a $148 fee for the six lessons, each to be scheduled between 2-6 p.m.

Weight Watchers — Angela Kramer leads local Weight Watchers meetings with weigh-ins and registrations at 5:30 p.m. and the meeting beginning at 6 p.m. Visit www.weightwatchers.com to become a member or to learn more about Weight Watchers.

Alcoholics Anonymous — Traditional open AA meeting in a friendly setting at 7:30 p.m.. Come early to chat and share in refreshments.
