Annual event slated for March 16
DUDLEY — Shepherd Hill Regional High School’s community service club, Students Give Back, will host their annual Prom Dress Swap on Saturday, March 16.
The event will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the gymnasium side of the school cafeteria. Admission is $5 per person and is open to all individuals from the surrounding communities, adults and prom-goers alike.
With a dress donation, participants will receive a voucher for a free dress of equal quality in exchange. Donated dresses must be free of stains or tears and be in good condition. Dresses are reviewed by the event coordinators for quality. Each dress sold without an exchange will be sold for $15. Full-length prom dresses and cocktail dresses are available.
The Prom Dress Swap is a great opportunity to find a dress for this year’s junior or senior prom, a senior banquet, homecoming, or other formal event. Dressing rooms are provided on site and participants are encouraged to try on a variety of dresses before making their purchase.
Students Give Back is a community service club founded by Shepherd Hill alum Kyla Reslock, who graduated in 2013. The club is currently led by Shannon Ross, a junior at the regional high school. The aim of the group is to create opportunities such as the annual Prom Dress Swap to benefit those in the community who are in need.
In addition to helping locals find quality dresses affordably, the Prom Dress Swap also serves a charitable fundraising event. All funds collected will be donated to the Make-a-Wish Foundation.
