SOUTHBRIDGE — In an effort to combat the spread of COVID-19, Harrington HealthCare System has established a special hotline and a pair of rapid triage screening tents.

The hotline will be staffed weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. by specially trained nurses for questions and concerns related to the coronavirus, according to information released on Friday afternoon. Harrington HealthCare said the hotline, which can be reached by calling 508-765-8191, is designed to help patients access care in a way that will minimize the risk of the spread of disease to others.

Outside of the emergency room of Harrington HealthCare’s Southbridge campus is a rapid triage screening tent designed to help screen all patients showing symptoms of the coronavirus. The tent is not a rapid testing site. Harrington HealthCare affirmed all patients entering the emergency department will be required to check-in at the tent before entering the building itself. Hospital officials said the same measures are expected to be instituted at Harrington HealthCare’s Webster campus within the next couple days.
