Monday, April 9

Family Foundations 5 Playgroup — This free program for preschool aged children is sponsored by the Union 61 Family Foundation 5 Grant. The playgroup runs every Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. until May, while school is in session. Sen-I Judo Club — This course runs all year long and is well suited for all levels of practitioners including beginners. Call Sensei Israel Lopez 413-279-4330 for more information.

Tuesday, April 10

Art Group — Participants enjoy time to socialize, draw and paint together informally without instruction. No pre-registration required. Bring your own supplies and enjoy! Free will donations are welcome. Time: 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Contact Hitchcock at 413 245 9977 for more information.

Bring your Buddy and learn some basic manners through Positive Training Methods at Hitchcock Academy.

Wednesday, April 11

Buddies Dog Training — This dog training basics class is for canines of all ages (puppies welcome) and provides positive training methods, good management practices, and problem-solving strategies. The first week is mandatory, and dogs do not attend. Vaccinations must be up-to-date. Children under 14 must be with an adult for any and all of the six classes. Training is held from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. with a $130 fee. Instructor is Laurie Merritt, M.Ed., Certified Professional Dog Trainer.

Reiki Level I — Tap into the healing energy of the universe and start your path to becoming a Reiki master. Reiki was developed in Japan, but adapted to many cultures as a non-invasive healing technique that can be used alongside Western medicine. Traditional Reiki Master Jean Miller serves as the instructor for two classes from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. There is a $150 fee for this course.

Watercolors With Beth — Ongoing watercolor classes for all levels with a new painting every three weeks. You must register with instructor Beth Parys in advance to attend. Classes run from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and costs $17 per week, plus supplies. For more information and to register, call Beth at 413-245-3295.

K9 NoseWork — K9 NoseWork is a sport open to all breeds of dogs and their people. Explore a new hobby with your best friend or improve on you and your friend’s current knowledge. Progressive training levels offered from basic to advanced, with six classes in this session. There is a $145 fee per dog and the program is run by Laurie Merritt, M.Ed., Certified K9 NoseWork Instructor.

Friday, April 13

Alcoholics Anonymous — Traditional open AA meetings in a friendly setting. Come early to chat and share in refreshments. Meetings begin at 7:30 p.m.

Saturday, April 14

FARMERS’ MARKET — Opening day for Brimfield’s weekly Farmers’ Market, now in its 12th year. Stop by and browse a selection of locally grown and made products from baked goods, produce, and flowers to soaps and more. The Farmers’ Markets run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. each Saturday through October 27, except during the Brimfield Antiques Show.
