BRIMFIELD — On the heels of the famous Brimfield Antiques Show, locals are preparing for the Town Wide Tag Sale on Saturday, May 19.
The rain or shine Town Wide Tag Sale started in 2011 as a fundraiser for Hitchcock Academy and is now in its eighth year. Realtor Stephanie Bayliss of MA Homes LLC is donating her time and expertise to help Hitchcock Academy make this tag sale possible. Beside the hard work of Bayliss and the staff at Hitchcock, organizers say the Tag Sale couldn’t work without participation of the community — both those who register to host tag sales and those who visit and shop.
Brimfield residents interested in hosting a tag sale have until Monday, May 14 to register their tag sale with Hitchcock Academy. The First Congregational Church of Brimfield and St. Christopher’s Catholic Church will both have space available for those who live outside of Brimfield or who wish to sell in the center of town. Those encouraged to take part are urged to contact those churches prior to Saturday, May 19.
Visitors to the tag sales will be happy to hear that maps will be free this year. Starting on Friday, May 18, people can visit MaHomesLLC.com to get a copy of the map, or on Saturday, May 19, pick up a map at Hitchcock Academy starting at 8 a.m. The next step is to visit tag sales until the shopping is done.
