The Storm Magnet: Flash freeze expected

Please be safe Friday night into Saturday night as the weather is going a bit crazy in southern New England. Near 60 degrees today with heavy tropical rains coming later today and tonight — 2-4″ of rain, with the ground still frozen, will lead to widespread ponding and some flooding in areas. Saturday morning will start out near 60 degrees, but by 11:00am it should be hovering just above the freezing mark — and in the 20’s by 3:00pm! This will quickly freeze all the rain that previously fell and make for some slick walking and driving. Be safe everyone! If you have a storm drain near your home, now would be a good time to make sure it is clear to help the rain have somewhere to go. If your basement is prone to flooding, be sure to check your sump pump sooner than later.
