Bank robbery leads to pursuit, arrest

BRIMFIELD — Authorities from multiple police agencies collaborated in the pursuit and apprehension of a bank robbery suspect this afternoon.

The suspect was apprehended around 4:45 p.m. after agencies descended on the area of Dix Hill, Marsh Hill, Brookfield Road, and Tower Hill Road in Brimfield. Police were searching for the unidentified suspect after a reported bank robbery in neighboring West Brookfield. As of publication of this article, police have not identified which bank was robbed.

The Brimfield Police Department lauded the work of Massachusetts State Trooper Thomas Eliason and his K-9 partner, Viktor, in the capture of the suspect. Also cited as being involved in the apprehension was State Trooper Amy Waterman, Brimfield Police Officers Daniel Fagan and Olszta, and Sturbridge Police Officer Thomas Giordano.

During the pursuit and search for the suspect, authorities urged residents to lock their doors and call 911 in the event of seeing an individual matching the suspect’s description. At that time, police described the suspect as a light skinned man with short-to-bald hair, and wearing dark clothing.
