Murder-suicide under investigation in Charlton

Female victim shot multiple times, passes away after receiving medical assistance

CHARLTON — Local and state police have been investigating an apparent murder-suicide on Saturday night, according to the Office of Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early, Jr.

In a press release issued on Sunday, the District Attorney’s office said the bodies of a man and a woman were found at 28 Southbridge Road after a 911 call had been placed at approximately 7:15 p.m. on Saturday. The address provided is the location of the Cady Brook Condominiums, and officials did not divulge which unit the homicide occurred within nor the identities of either of the deceased.

“It was reported to police that an argument between a couple was occurring in a bedroom of the home,” read the District Attorney’s press release. The District Attorney’s office noted the investigation is ongoing, and that law enforcement has determined there is no threat to the public.
