State Police traffic stop finds alleged drunk driver with drugs

CHARLTON — A Monson man was arrested a motor vehicle stop uncovered an allegedly drunk driver carrying marijuana edibles and paraphernalia.

Massachusetts State Police arrested Anthony Driscoll, 41, of Monson, after Trooper David Amadei pulled him over near the 85 mile marker on Route 90 eastbound at approximately 10:12 p.m. on Saturday. The traffic stop occurred as a result of Mr. Driscoll allegedly committing motor vehicle operations in his Honda Accord. During the subsequent search of the vehicle, State Police found several packaged of marijuana edibles and paraphernalia.

Mr. Driscoll was placed under arrest for operating under the influence of liquor and possession with intent to distribute a Class D substance, and taken to State Police Barracks in Charlton, where he was booked and has been helding pending an arraignment in Dudley District Court on Tuesday. Mr. Driscoll was also issued a civil motor vehicle violations of following too close and marked lanes violation. Trooper Kevin Kennedy assisted in the arrest.
