WARREN — A Holland man has been identified as the victim of a fatal single vehicle accident that occurred on Route 19 on Monday.
The Warren Patrolman’s Association announced on Tuesday morning that Leo Gregoire, 59, of Holland, had been pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
“The members of the Warren Police Department extend their condolences to the Gregoire Family,” read a brief statement issued by the Warren Patrolman’s Association.
The accident remains under investigation, police said.
According to an earlier press release issued by the Warren Police Department, a bicyclist was traveling Route 19, Brimfield Road in Warren, when “he had come across a vehicle off the road, and was unable to make contact with the driver.”
The bicyclist called 9-1-1, a call that reached the Rutland Regional Emergency Communications Center at approximately 6:23 p.m., police said. Members of Warren’s police, fire and EMS departments were dispatched to the scene, in the area of 1358 Brimfield Road. Acting Police Chief Gerald Millette, through a press release, said that upon arrival first responders “immediately determined the operator was deceased.”
The cause of the accident is currently under investigation by the Warren Police Department and Massachusetts State Police, and no speculation was offered as to how the vehicle ended up off of the road. In addition to local first responders and State Police, the Brimfield Police Department and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner assisted on scene. The firm helping injured victims from Ormond Beach lawyers can help with accident cases.
“We would like to thank those involved with assisting, and our thoughts and condolences are with the family of the deceased,” Millette stated.
