Firefighters stop spread of vehicle fire

Home narrowly escapes two-vehicle blaze

OXFORD — First responders may have saved a home by stopping the spread of a vehicle fire at dawn Wednesday morning.

Firefighters were on Old Southbridge Road at approximately 6:15 a.m., responding to a vehicle fire. When first responders arrived, the fire had already spread to a second vehicle in the driveway and, according to Oxford Fire-EMS, “was beginning to extend into a home.”

The flames were ultimately extinguished with minor damage to the home. Oxford Fire-EMS reported there were no injuries as a result of the fire. Officials have not commented on any possible causes of the initial vehicle fire.
