Northbridge eliminated by Westborough in Clark Tourney

WORCESTER — The Northbridge Rams were bounced from the Clark Tournament Quarterfinals in a 59-38 loss to the Westborough Rangers on Monday afternoon at the Kneller Athletic Center.

Westborough opened the game with a 10-0 run, never looking back in a 59-38 win over Northbridge. Matthew Doherty paced the Rangers offense, who entered the annual invitational tournament as the sixth seed of the large school pairings. Doherty had 16 points in the game, while teammate Domenic Caspariello added 13 points for Westborough.

Dillon Padula led the Northbridge offense with 13 points, including ten in the second half. Robbie Cannon chipped in with seven points. The Rams entered the tournament as the third seed in the large school pairings.

With the loss, Northbridge has been eliminated from the tournament. Westborough will advance to the semifinals at 6 p.m. on Thursday. The Rangers will take on the Groton-Dunstable Crusaders, who defeated the Grafton Indians, 64-52, on Monday afternoon.
