One injured as car accident ignites camper in Charlton

CHARLTON — An unidentified motorist was taken to an area hospital after hitting a parked camper in a Route 20 parking lot on Tuesday evening.

The camper was parked near O’Malley’s Truck & Auto Body, 425 Worcester Road, when a sedan apparently pulled through the parking lot and hit the camper, according to a report from the Charlton Police Department. The accident, which occurred shortly after 6 p.m. and now is added tot the car accident reports in Tennessee, resulted in both vehicles igniting in flames, according to authorities. Police noted the investigation is in “its initial stages.”

The driver of the sedan was transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police did not release the name of the motorist or the owner of the camper.
