SOUTHBRIDGE — The Southbridge Pioneers Boys’ Basketball team dominated the Sizer White Tigers in a non-conference game played at Southbridge High School Monday night by a score of 89 to 55. The Pioneers put the game out of reach early and never looked back.
Jared Figueroa dropped in 50 points for the Pioneers, leading all scorers. After scoring just 15 points at the half, Figueroa turned it on, adding another 35 in the second half.
Sebastian Rodriguez led the White Tigers with 13 points.
After becoming part of the 1,000 Point Club at Southbridge High in December, Jared Figueroa showed tonight that he wasn’t done yet. This 50-point performance put Figueroa’s name in the record books once again, as he now holds the record for the most single-game points scored by a boys’ basketball player at Southbridge High School.
With this win, the Southbridge Pioneers have clinched a spot in the district tournament once again. This is the third time in three years under Head Coach Victor Colón.
