Woman allegedly steals $2,300 in wine, leaves in BMW

STURBRIDGE — Local police are seeking the public’s help in tracking down a woman who allegedly stole $2,300 worth of alcohol earlier this month.

The Sturbridge Police Department took to their social media accounts on Monday afternoon in hopes someone may be able to help identify a white female caught on surveillance video on Monday, August 6 at Yankee Spirits in Sturbridge. Still frames from the surveillance video show the woman, sporting a white baseball cap, a white tank top, and dark colored capri pants, entering the liquor store with a striped bag sitting in a shopping cart at 2:12 p.m. Another image, taken from a different camera angle seven minutes later, shows the woman heading for the exit without the shopping cart and with a full bag hanging from her left shoulder. According to the Sturbridge Police Department, that bag contained several bottles of wine.

The woman left with a male driver in a silver BMW sedan, allegedly with roughly $2,300 in stolen goods.

Anyone with any information about this incident is asked to contact Sturbridge Police Officer Scott Crevier at 508-347-2525, ext. 344.
