MILLBURY — Robert E. Barrows, 85, of Millbury died peacefully on Saturday, October 13 at CareOne at Millbury. He was the husband of Elaine E. (Johnson) Barrows with whom he shared 35 wonderful years.
Robert was born, raised and educated in Worcester, the son of the late Earl and Britta (Banks) Barrows and in 1953, he enlisted in the Army. Upon his return from his service to the military, he worked various jobs and entered into retirement after becoming a very skilled finish carpenter.
Bob enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was always the life of the party with his jokes and wonderful sense of humor. He was a member of SAC with Elaine and they spent many years dancing there. He enjoyed glamping and they spent many winters in their RV in Florida and summers in Salisbury with the family.
In addition to his wife Elaine, he is survived by his children, Robert Barrows and his wife Glenna of Auburn, Christine Larson and her husband Glenn of Worcester, Roy Barrows of Auburn, Lorene Barrows of Natick, Eric Blom and his wife Christine of Wakefield, Mark Blom and his wife Deborah of Brookfield, Douglas Blom of Worcester, 12 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his first wife Joan (Menard) Barrows, grandson Adam Larson, grandson Brian Moore and, a great granddaughter Drew Potenti, his siblings Roland, Eldora, Udine, Earl Jr., William and Ronald.
Services for Robert will be held in private with the assistance of Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central Street, Auburn.
