Mary A. (Marino) Lizotte, 85

SOUTHBRIDGE — Mary A. (Marino) Lizotte, 85, of Golf St., passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 19, in her home surrounded by her family after a long illness.

Her husband of 60 years, Gerald E. Lizotte, died in 2013.  She leaves her two sons, John Lizotte and his wife Patricia of Southbridge and Thomas Lizotte of Southbridge; her four daughters, Linda Brady and her husband Robert of Myrtle Beach, SC, Lucy O’Brien of Southbridge, Brenda Lizotte of Cape Neddick, Maine, and Lisa Besse and her husband Steve of Southbridge; her brother, Amadee “Middy” Marino and his wife Connie of Sturbridge; her best friend, Jean Matte of Southbridge; her seven grandchildren, Shawn O’Brien, Shaina Brignole, Jason Berthiaume, Jill Hultquist, A.J. Berthiaume, Zachary Besse and Cassandra Besse; six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her sister, Angelina Provost and her brother, Donald “Mingo” Marino.  She was born in Southbridge the daughter of Dominic and Lucy (Rossi) Marino.

Mary worked at the American Optical Co. in Southbridge for many years, retiring many years ago.  After retiring she worked part time for the Burnham and Nale Insurance Agency in Southbridge for many years.  Mary enjoyed games of chance, she enjoyed playing bingo, playing cards, scratch tickets, and playing Keno.  Mary also loved taking trips to Maine.

Her family would like to give special thanks to Nancy Nale for all she did for Mary in recent years.

Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 25th, from the Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church of the St. John Paul II Parish, 263 Hamilton St., Southbridge.  Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Southbridge, will be held at the convenience of the family.  Calling hours in the funeral home will be held on Monday, Sept. 24, from 5 to 7 p.m.
