Southbridge — Margarita (Spiro) Pelletier, 85, of Westwood Pkwy, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 31, in the Overlook Masonic Healthcare Center, Charlton, after a brief illness.
Her husband of 60 years, Leon J. Pelletier, died in 2016. She leaves her son, David M. Pelletier and his wife Karen of Southbridge; her daughter, Elaine M. Klemencic and her husband Steven of Montclair, VA; her sister, Loretta Taylor of Plymouth; her four grandchildren, Jennifer Huard and her husband Bryan, Mark Pelletier, Valerie O’Connor and her husband Brian, and Michael Klemencic; three great grandchildren, Madelynn Huard, Emma Huard and Ethan Bayrouty; and several nieces and nephews. Her daughter, Linda M. Pelletier, died in 1978. She was also predeceased by a brother, Peter Spiro and a sister, Vasilika Mani. She was born in Korce, Albania, the daughter of Lazar and Anastasia (Sotir) Spiro.
Margarita worked at the United Lens Co. in Southbridge for many years, retiring in 1994. She was a lifelong member of St. Nicholas Albanian Orthodox Church in Southbridge and was a member of its Daughters of St. Nicholas Society. Margarita enjoyed going out with her friends. Most of all she loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Margarita’s funeral will be held on Monday, Feb. 5, from the Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge, with a service at 11:00am in St. Nicholas Albanian Orthodox Church, 126 Morris St., Southbridge. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Southbridge. Calling hours in the funeral home will be held on Sunday, Feb. 4, from 2:00 to 4:00pm.
