SOUTHBRIDGE — Kenneth R. Guertin, 70, passed away on Saturday, March 24, in the St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester, after a long illness.

He leaves his wife of 50 years, Paulette R. (Boudreau) Guertin; his son, Keith R. Guertin and his wife Heather of Southbridge; and his two grandchildren, Jake Guertin and Melysa May Guertin, both of Southbridge.  His son, Kristopher Guertin, predeceased him in 1972.  He was also predeceased by his step father, Albert Servant and his father and mother-in-law, N. Leo and Rita Boudreau.  He was born in Heidelberg, Germany the son of the late Raymond Guertin and Jeanne (Bombardier) Guertin Servant and grew up in Sturbridge.  He was a graduate of Tantasqua Regional High School in Sturbridge.   He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War.

Ken worked at Karl Storz Endovision Inc. in Charlton for 11 years before retiring.  He previously worked as a supervisor at Amerbelle Textile Co. for 30 years.  He was a lifelong member and former president of the Sturbridge Lions Club and was a recipient of the Lions Club’s Joseph Camarda Fellowship Award.  He was a former member of the board of directors and former coach of the Southbridge Pop Warner Football program.  Ken was a proud New England Patriots season ticket holder for 30 years.  He was also an avid hunter and fisherman.

Calling hours for Ken will be held on Thursday, March 29, in the Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.  Funeral services and burial will be private.
