WEBSTER — Joyce L. (Johnson) Thunberg, 76, of Golden Heights, died Monday, June 4 in Harrington Memorial Hospital, Southbridge with family at her side. 

She leaves three children, Patricia A. Carrier, Daniel C. Thunberg and Darren R. Thunberg, all of Webster; four grandchildren, Robert and Corey Stubbert, Joseph Randell and Kelly Carrier; two sisters, Clara L. Norsigian and Phyllis H. Romano, both of Webster; her former husband, Robert Thunberg of Webster; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sons, Richard and Charles Carrier, by two infant grandchildren, Jeannette and Megan Carrier, and by a sister, Lucy Haynes. 

She was born and raised in Worcester, a daughter of Charles E. and Ann V. (Seymour) Johnson and moved to Webster in 1980. 

Mrs. Thunberg was a toll collector for the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority for 20 years, first in Sturbridge and then in Auburn, before she retired in 2005. 

She enjoyed playing bingo and spending quality time with her family. 

Visiting hours will be held from 4 to 6 p.m., Friday, June 14, in Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street, with a prayer service at 5:45 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
