NASHUA, NH — Harold Conant Peterson, 88, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 31, at the Community Hospice House, Merrimack, NH, with his loved ones by his side.
Harold “Pete” was born on October 14, 1930 in Torrington, Conn., to Harold and Evelyn (Richard) Peterson. Pete leaves his sons Neil Peterson of Boston, Keith Peterson and his wife Mary Ann of St. Albans, VT, and Glenn Peterson of Sturbridge; his daughters Cathy Czyzewski and her husband Rick of Melbourne, Fla., and Donna Viens and her husband Dave of Clifton, VA; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and his long-time companion, Paula Pitarys of Nashua.
A graduate of Wells High School in Southbridge, Pete attended the College of the Holy Cross and completed his studies at the Boston University Law School.
Pete’s legal career spanned practicing law with his partner to consulting for a variety of business and corporate enterprises. Pete enjoyed traveling to visit his children and grandchildren. He loved his New England sports teams, especially the Red Sox and the Patriots and could often be seen with either a newspaper or a crossword puzzle in hand. He was a generous friend always ready to help.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at St Joseph’s Hospital and Community Hospice House for their loving care and compassion.
His funeral service will be held on Monday, August 5, at 1 p.m. in the Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Southbridge. A calling hour in the funeral home will be held on Monday, August 5, from 12 to 1 p.m., prior to the service.
