BRIMFIELD/SOUTHBRIDGE — George F. Bundeff, 97, of Little Alum Rd., formerly of Southbridge, passed away on Sunday, June 9, in his home, after a long illness.

His wife, Irene A. (LaPlante) Bundeff, passed away in 2009.  He leaves his son, John Bundeff and his wife, Susan of Stafford Springs, Conn.; his daughter, Diane Dionne and her husband, Paul of Brimfield; his five grandchildren, Catherine Dionne of Belchertown, Daniel Dionne and his wife, Jennifer of Monson, Thomas McAllister Dionne and his husband, Scott McAllister Dionne of Peabody, David Dionne and his fiancé, Danielle Bousquet of Stafford Springs, Conn., and Maryanne Grippo-Beck of Agawam; and his three great grandchildren, Trenton Hill, Houston Dionne and Nicholas Grippo-Beck.  He was predeceased by his two brothers, Andrew Bundeff, Jr. and Chester Bundeff.  George was born in Webster the son of Andrew and Catherine (Czhowski) Bundeff, Sr.  He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II serving in the Philippines. 

George was a machinist for the American Optical Co. in Southbridge for 43 years, retiring many years ago.  He was a member of the American Optical Quarter Century Club.  He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed gardening.  George often enjoyed sitting on his back porch enjoying nature. 

His funeral and burial in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Southbridge, will be private.  There are no calling hours.

The Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge, is directing arrangements.
