CHARLTON — Earl W. Zimmerman, 92, former longtime resident Huntington Beach, Calif., passed away on Monday, July 8, in the Overlook Masonic Healthcare Center, Charlton, after an illness.

He leaves his wife of 54 years, Helen (Rischitelli) Zimmerman; two brothers, Alfred Zimmerman and his wife Nancy and Mike Zimmerman and his wife Louise; two sisters, Norma Conrad and Joann Day; and nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by a brother, James Zimmerman and three sisters, Elsie Gunden, Lois Lauffer and Ruby Stotts.  He was born in Protection, Kansas the son of Elmer and Erma J. (Troyer) Zimmerman.  Earl was a graduate of Protection High School and went on to serve in the U.S. Air Force.

While in the service Earl was a cartographer.  After the military he worked as an aerial photographer, taking photos of construction sites, working all over the world.  He later went back to cartography, retiring many years ago.

A graveside service for Earl will be held on Saturday, July 20, at 11:30 a.m. in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Charlton St., Southbridge.  There are no calling hours.

The Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge, is directing arrangements.
