“Savannah Sipping Society” coming to Southbridge

Gateway Players production hits the stage in June

SOUTHBRIDGE — Gateway Players Theatre is very pleased to present the heartfelt comedy “The Savannah Sipping Society” by Wooten, Jones and Hope.

Show dates are June 7, 8, 14, 15, and 16. Performances will be held in Fellowship Hall of Elm Street Congregational Church, 61 Elm St., Southbridge. Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, while the Sunday matinee is at 2 p.m. This show is directed by Mary Gahagan, with Erin Morin as stage manager, Barbara Day as producer, Cynthia Keane set builder, Stephanie Sawyer doing tech, Pamela Soper doing costumes, Helen Churchill, photographer and Chris McTigue, house coordinator.

Tickets are $15 for adults, $13 for over 60 and under 18 and are available by calling 508-7644531 or going to brownpapertickets.com.

The cast includes Tamara Beland (Marlafaye), Linda Bouthillier (Dot), Simone Germain (Jinx) and Gwen O’Brien  (Randa).

THE STORY: Four unique Southern women, all needing to escape the sameness of their day-to-day routines, are drawn together by Fate-and an impromptu happy hour-and decide it’s high time to reclaim the enthusiasm for life they’ve lost through the years.
